Learn About Our WorkThe Challenge
A Systemic Barrier to Potential
In Uganda, persons with disabilities face formidable barriers that prevent them from full participation in society. The situation for the deaf community is especially critical.
Access to Education
Only 5% of children with disabilities access inclusive education in regular schools.
Secondary Enrollment
A devastating 3% of deaf children enroll in secondary education.
Disability Population
Approximately 13.2% of Uganda's population are persons with disabilities.
Completion of S.6
Merely 0.1% of deaf children complete senior six, highlighting a severe educational crisis.

We tackle the root causes of exclusion through four interconnected strategies designed to create lasting change.
Education & Communication
We establish training centers and provide specialized support to deaf students.
Community Awareness
We work to reduce stigma and enhance community integration through awareness sessions.
Capacity Building
We train teachers in inclusive education and healthcare workers in sign language.
Advocacy & Policy
We engage with government structures to improve disability-inclusive policies.
