Our Story: A Vision for Inclusion

Ability For All Network (AFAN) is being established as a transformative and scalable disability rights organization in Uganda. While our foundational focus centers strategically on deaf education and sign language accessibility—particularly addressing the critical needs observed in Nakivale Refugee Settlement—AFAN is architecturally designed to expand services to encompass all categories of persons with disabilities.

Our founding vision emerges from direct observation of profound gaps in disability inclusion, particularly the devastating educational challenges faced by deaf students who lack proficiency in Ugandan Sign Language and access to qualified interpreters. We believe this reality represents not merely a service gap, but a fundamental violation of human dignity and potential.
